about
At the beginning of XIX century, french artist Théodore Géricault painted a series of portraits where he represented people suffering from personality disorders. This series of artworks are called "Monomanias". This song is inspired by the portrait "Monomanie du commandement militaire", the obsession and delusion of being a high-ranked army official.
lyrics
Another war, once again.
Here we are.
I smell the fear floating in the air,
Crawling up.
Many of you
will fall out in the battlefield.
Many of you
will taste glory in the victory.
We are prepared, we know the rules
of warfare.
Now is your turn,
you only have to obey
my command.
Keep holding on.
We must watch out for our chance.
Let the dice roll.
The fortune will bless all of us.
Under my will
countless empires have fallen.
Galaxies collapse
under the weight of my fist.
I've killed invincible armies.
I don't know what defeat means.
I plan, I steer and I conquer.
Just follow my command.
Charge in their flank.
We're cutting like a knife.
No escape.
Push the frontline.
Crushing their defenses.
Almost there.
Don't give an inch.
That ground was watered with our blood.
Mission completed.
No one ever doubted that...
Under my will
countless empires have fallen.
Galaxies collapse
under the weight of my fist.
I've killed invincible armies.
I don't know what defeat means.
I plan, I steer and I conquer.
Just follow my command.
It 's all over.
You are back to reality.
With your troops
back in their box.
There’s no glory,
cold remains in the fridge.
You’re alone.
A feast for crows.
Now remember
all the honour in the field.
That lust for
power and strength.
Your choice is clear.
Reality is blurring.
You’ll remain
in your battleground.
Under your command
no one lifted a finger ever.
And your mighty will
could not defeat loneliness.
